What a Ride

Starting a non profit is fun, exhilarating and exhausting all at the same time. I just had lunch with a dear friend of mine and she just lit the fire again, well the fire has been there I guess you can say she poured gasoline on the fire and made it explode. Just in case anyone is wondering, that is a good thing. My husband and I have officially moved to the "south side" and all is well. Im trying to get to know the people in my neighborhood so that MICAH can grow some roots. This is going to be fun. I feel my current job as Outreach Director at Arts Fifth Avenue is preparing me for whats to come for MICAH. Its so fun! But at the same time its like I have to pump the breaks. Sometimes I get the feeling like Im stretched too thin. Kind of like you have commited to so much that you cant give all that you've commited too 100%. Thats where I am. God will help me, I know. I guess balance will come now that Ive recognized that I need it. Ha! Life is so good. God is the bomb and it just keeps getting better. :)

Dads2Daughters

I know that its been a nice minute sence I have written anything, but I want you all to know that MICAH is still growing. Laura White with Dads2Daughters is hosting her first event and this event will benefit MICAH. So, this will actually be MICAH's first fundraiser. The black and white ball will be held July 18th, 2009. Please visit her website at http://www.dads2daughters.com/ to learn about this amazing company and how it will affect the lives of dads and there daughters. Laura is an amazing woman who has a heart for the future of MICAH and what we are all about. I myself cannot wait to have little girls running around so that we can be more personally involved in her new adventure.

To all who have been praying, thank you for your support...

One more thing, Michelle Modesto is in charge of donations of shoes, clothing and dance accessories so if you have any questions or donations please contact her by email at michelle5678@gmail.com.

EVENT COMMITTEE!

Greetings,

The MICAH project is in the process of forming an event committee to oversee all events such as fundraisers, concerts, auctions etc. We are coming upon our first year of operation and we wanted to extend a hand to you, the friends and family of those who are immediately involved in the formation of… The MICAH Project.

We are very excited but also in need of assistance in pulling off a most successful grand event…" MICAHS first fundraiser"! We are requesting that you dedicate one day per month, for the next six months, to plan and organize the event. This fundraiser means so much to the organization because it is the grand kick off to raising funds, building future donors as well as instilling excitement for the future of MICAH. Just in the rare case that I have not spoken to you about this organization, I want to give you a brief overview of what MICAH is all about and why I believe you will be a great contributor to its purpose.

The M.I.C.A.H Project
(Molding Identities in Children through Art and History).
It is dedicated to enhancing the lives of low income and under privileged youth by providing quality education in the Arts, most specifically, dance. While encouraging creativity through movement, we believe this is a wonderful way to develop and enhance one’s ability to grow personally and spiritually. We believe that if you devote your time to giving God the glory in all things, you will acquire the true benefits of a full relationship with Christ. In him, you will hold the keys to better decision-making qualities and the belief through faith that "you can do all things through Christ. As Christ is laid as the foundation, we look to him to open doors for children of all ages and backgrounds to enter doors that will assist them as they learn and grow not only in their knowledge of choreography, structure and discipline but to reach their underlying purpose for living, in spite of all circumstance.

We believe you have a heart not only for Christ but also for the overall purpose of sharing His love through whatever means He lays on the hearts of His people. The Arts, is the avenue he has chosen as our method of purpose, through MICAH.

Please let us know a soon as you have had time to pray and consider how you can contribute, if The MICAH Project is the organization that you would like to support.

Thank you

Blessed

Hello All,
I want you to know how God has blessed me. I am overwhelmed by how the Lord continues to put people in my life to make MICAH a reality. First things first. I am about 85% better. As you all may or may not know, I dislocated my knee September 27 and I am back and loaded with about a million classes to teach this semester at Arts Fifth Avenue and other contracts that the Lord has blessed me with. All that and trying to establish MICAH's non profit status. It can get pretty overwhelming but just when I want to pull my locks out someone very special is placed in my life. MICAH now has a consultant by way of heaven! Seriously, her name is Julie and she is an old client of mine from Restoration Hardware who has decided to volunteer her time and expertise to get MICAH moving. Believe me, when I say she is from heaven, she really is. God only knows how important she is to this organization. Along with her is Desiree' from Just One Year Photography. She is a woman after Gods own heart and she has continually shown her support throughout the time that I have know her. Jeannie Ocasio one of my former students parents and now friend is a prayer warrior! The list can honestly go on and on and I will continue to give my shout outs throughout time but I must say to all that are reading that The MICAH Project is a powerful ministry that will need your support. Continue to be in prayer over this vision and over the lives that will be touched by Jesus through movement.
Thank you all.
